South Jersey Adult Soccer League |
OUR HISTORY |
The South Jersey Amateur Soccer League was formed in 1971 with the first league competition comprised of six teams being held in the summer of 1972. As new teams were added, divisions were created until eventually 4 divisions were in place. League play always occurred between June & August. Eventually, a Spring League was added in 1980 to provide competition from March to May. We utilize the world-wide system of promotion & relegation among the various divisions which makes for spirited competition. In the Spring of 2003, the league was renamed The South Jersey ADULT Soccer League, in keeping with USSF & US Soccer regulations. The play has been as spirited and competitive as always ! |
With the growth of girl's soccer in the 80's at both the club and high school levels, a Ladies division was begun in 1989, again with 6 teams. There are no restrictions on the number of teams, ALL Amateur teams located in the 7 counties of South Jersey are always welcome to join & compete with us. There are both team and individual trophies for each Division winner as well as Gold and Silver medals for the finalists in the annual James R. Moyer Cup & Ladies Cup competitions. These are single-elimination tournaments based on the familiar English FA Cup format, and have proven to be quite popular with all our participants! |

While ALL teams are always welcome, the League would especially like to see more Ladies teams join our ranks. For additional registration information, please contact either Rich Lodge, or Chuck Snyder |
